Requesting a loan

We want to show the collection of the Museum Plantin-Moretus to as many people as possible. For this reason, the museum also lends its works and pieces for presentations in other museums and art institutions, subject to some conditions, of course.

Plantin's Plants

500 years of looking at nature

In 2026, the Museum Plantin-Moretus is celebrating the 500th birthday of Carolus Clusius (1526-1609), a doctor and botanist from the Low Countries. With that in mind, the museum is inviting you to come and see the most attractive botanical images from the 16th to the 20th centuries from its own collections.

Plan your visit

As a museum, we have the responsibility to prevent the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19. That’s why the museum will close temporarily and this until further notice. All our planned activities will be cancelled. The reading room will remain open.

What is there to see?

Discover the magic of the Museum. In mansion and printing press. In room and studio. In letters and typography. In beautiful books. Experience how, long before our digital age, words and images were spread around the world.
